In the heart of Bandra, Tokyo Matcha Bar introduces the city’s very first Matcha Bar, offering a unique taste of Japan. Founded by the dynamic duo, coffee enthusiast Meher Kohli and Michelin star chef Rahul Ramnani, the matcha bar is an expansion of their already beloved brand, Ritual Daily Coffee.
Tokyo Matcha Bar Brings Japan To Mumbai
Having won over the city’s caffeine lovers, Meher and Rahul saw an opportunity to provide something fresh—matcha, the ceremonial Japanese green tea, known for its vibrant colour, energising properties, and earthy flavour. Now, after countless cups of matcha and a dedicated following, they’ve opened a stylish, serene dine-in space.
The design of Tokyo Matcha Bar’s new location draws heavily from the Wabi-Sabi philosophy, which celebrates simplicity and the beauty of imperfection. The interiors feature light hues, natural wood, and minimalist elements, giving it a chic, modern vibe reminiscent of a peaceful Japanese teahouse. The ambiance provides a relaxing escape from the city’s frenetic pace.
According to Meher Kohli, the space isn’t just about grabbing a quick matcha fix—it’s about immersing oneself in the calming world of matcha. “Our new dine-in space is more than just a place to grab a matcha drink. It’s a sanctuary where you can escape the hustle and bustle of Mumbai,” she said, capturing the essence of what Tokyo Matcha Bar stands for.
