Early March 2019, in Mumbai, saw it’s very first all Women Street Art Festival! Here’s everything that went down there.
What Is It?
Marol streets in Mumbai were doused in bright hues and colours from 25th March 2019-30th March 2019 as part of the first Women’s Street Art Festival held here. A 10,000 square feet canvas, in the form of buildings, was provided to these women artists belonging to all parts of the world!
Called Ladies First, the festival came about as a collaboration between the Military Road Residents Welfare Association (MRRWA) and a Graffiti Art Agency known as Wicked Bros.
What’s More?
The festival’s aim was to provide women with an equal opportunity to showcase their talent and encourage more women to take up art.
Worry not if you missed the festival, you can still visit to gaze at the finished artworks speckled all over the streets and buildings of Marol.
