Mussoorie Sky Car Is Set To Be Completed By September 2026

Mussoorie Sky Car Private Limited is all set to transform the travel between Dehradun and Mussoorie. This 5.8 km long mono-cable detachable gondola ropeway will be the longest of its kind in India and South Asia. Set to be completed by September 2026, this ₹300 crore project will cut the travel time between two hill stations from 1.5 to 3 hours to just 15 to 20 minutes. Once the ropeway is up and running, we can say goodbye to that weekend traffic and reach our destination in a breeze. This megaproject is a joint venture between FIL Industries Pvt. Ltd., SRM Engineering LLP, and POMA SAS (France).

All About The Upcoming Ropeway Service

Here’s all you need to know about the Mussoorie Sky Car:

• The ropeway will save up to 1.2 hours of travel time one way. It will now be a breezy 15-minute ride. The gondola ride will offer views of Uttarakhand’s hills, valleys, and forests.
• Less road traffic will also lead to reduced carbon emissions. This ropeway is all-electric, waterproof, and designed for year-round operation.
• The ropeway will feature 10-seater diamond cabins with ventilation, automatic doors, and full weather protection. The system is designed to carry 1,300 passengers per hour in each direction.
• The construction has already begun, and Phase 1 is expected to be operational by September 2026.
• This CEN-certified ropeway will undergo multiple safety checks regularly.

This rope won’t just prove to be a boon for tourists but will also lead to a faster and safer daily commute for locals as well. The Mussoorie Sky Car Ropeway will bring convenience, modernisation, and sustainable tourism to Uttarakhand.
