Uran Phata Bridge In Navi Mumbai Shut Down For Repair
The Mumbai Lane of Uran Phata Bridge on the Sion Panvel Highway will remain closed to vehicular traffic for a month. According to The Indian Express, the bridge’s condition was deteriorating due to frequent repairs over time. In fact, ever since its construction, the bridge has required continuous maintenance. This often ended up causing traffic disruptions.
As per reports, the descent on the Mumbai-bound lane has been particularly challenging for two-wheeler riders and has been posing a safety risk. So, for a long-term solution, authorities have decided to carry out full-scale concretisation of the lane and decided to shut it down for a month, starting February 22.
