Nawazuddin Siddiqui Found Mumbai’s Language Similar To His Hometown When He First Moved; Here’s Why

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Our editor-in-chief Kamiya Jani stepped into Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s beautiful Mumbai mansion and the two enjoyed a delicious Sunday Brunch there. While the two chatted about Nawaz’s journey, Kamiya asked what difference Nawaz felt in Mumbai’s language, when compared to how people talk in his hometown. Here’s what the actor said.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui Found No Difference Between Mumbai & His Hometown Language

While enjoying a delicious feast, Nawazuddin Siddiqui spoke about how gaaliyaan (abuses) were part of his language in his hometown. Seeing how Mumbai too has a slightly rough edge in its dialect, Kamiya asked if he found any difference in the lingo of the two places.

“Mujhe zyada farq nahi laga. Matlab, language exactly samaj main nahi aati thi but jo attitude hota hai na, woh dono jagah ka kaafi similar hai. Jab aap pure Marathi bolte hai, toh mujhe lagta hai uss main thoda ‘akhadpan’ hai. Mujhe bada acha lagta hai woh,” Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared.

So, has he picked up any words in Marathi yet? While the actor is not fluent, he confessed, he has picked a few words here and there over the years.

Where Does He Like To Travel?

We, of course, had to ask if Nawazuddin Siddiqui liked to travel or not. The talented actor revealed that he likes to take breaks between two movies to travel and unwind for at least a month before beginning a new project. He shared that he last travelled to Frankfurt, Germany. Furthermore, he said that he sometimes likes to travel alone and sometimes with his kids.

He further added that meeting new people, learning new things, and seeing new locations, especially the peaceful ones, is something he really enjoys. “Humare yahan bhi kai aise jagah hai jaise Jaisalmer, Himachal Pradesh, ya Goa–aise kuch secluded se jagah pe rehna pasand hai, thoda acha lagta hai. Thode ideas aate hain kyunki travelling ka maaza tabhi hai jab aap kuch kaam karke jaaye,” he elaborated.
