NCM Issues Orange Alert For Abu Dhabi Region And Yellow Alert For Dubai & Fujairah

There are some extreme weather conditions that are prevailing in parts of the UAE. As it happens, thunderstorms have been forecasted in several parts of the country for the week. And now, the National Centre of Meteorology has issued an orange alert for the Abu Dhabi region. As it happens, a Yellow Alert has also been issued for Dubai and Fujairah. Here’s all you need to know about the weather alert!

Orange Alert Issued For Abu Dhabi Region

After the NCM issued the alert for the Abu Dhabi region, it was mentioned that the alert warned of hazardous conditions. In a report by the National News, it was revealed that drivers have, therefore, been urged to comply with the advice from the authorities. Yes, taking to its official account, the Abu Dhabi police also issued a warning for motors. On Tuesday morning, March 5, the authority asked motorists to exercise caution, as heavy fell across the emirate, and there is also rain forecast for most parts of the country.

As the orange alert remained in place till 10 AM, it was earlier even warned by the NCM that rain with different intensities would be scattered across Abu Dhabi. Not to mention, these would be accompanied by lightning and thunder. As it happens, similar weather conditions have been predicted for the week and the weekend.

Residents Woke Up To Overcast Skies In The UAE

So, as UAE residents woke up to overcast skies, heavy to moderate rains were scattered across different parts of the country. Yes, this included Dubai, Umm al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Sharjah, and Ajman, the previous night. In fact, the downpour even continued overnight in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain with hailstorms falling in several parts of Al Ain.

In case you’re wondering, the Yellow Alert indicates that rainy clouds have covered the entire country. While the Orange Alert means that there are chances for heavy rainfall in the designated region. As it happens, Storms AE also shared videos of hailstorms in Al Ain on its official account on Instagram.

So, if you have outdoor plans for the week, you might want to keep up with the weather updates in order to avoid getting drenched.
