NDRS To Delhi Metro’s Airport Terminal Journey Has Gotten Faster By 2 Mins. DMRC Plans To Make It The Fastest

Good news for Delhites! The Delhi Metro trains running on the airport express metro line are running faster than usual from 22 March 2023 onwards. The speed of the metro train on this track has been increased, thus leading to completing the journey in a shorter duration. The metro trains are now running at a speed of 100 km/hr, instead of 80 km/hr like previously. There are several plans by DMRC for this track. Read on to know all about it.

The shift from 80 km/hr to 100 km/hr decreased the time taken to commute to 17 minutes. Faster transportation is surely going to be hugely beneficial for commuters. In fact, there are many plans by the DMRC for the Delhi metro trains on the airport express metro line. According to a report by DNA, the DMRC is planning to work on building this into an express metro. As per this plan, the metro trains can run at a maximum speed of 120 km/hr. Also, this metro track might become the track for running metro trains with the most speed in India.

How Will The Timings To Cover The Distance Get Shorter?

With the Delhi metro trains running faster than usual, the time taken to reach your destination will decrease as well. This is how the required time will get reduced.

The metro trains are running at a speed of 100 km/hr from day. It will be running at a speed of 110 km/hr from the next month. Once again, the speed will increase to 120 km/hr from the next to next month.

The authorities started working on fastening the metro journey in 2022. The process is still a work in progress. The metro trains will start running at the fastest 120 km/hr once all the trials are done!
