Incidents occurring on airlines never fail to make the news. Be it the bizarre food served on board or passengers fighting, such incidents always raise concerns. Another addition to this list of unusual incidents involves an FIR filed against a Nepalese national. Accused of disorderly conduct onboard, the man was flying from Toronto to Delhi on an Air India flight. On Tuesday, he was accused of verbally abusing Air India cabin crew members and damaging the restroom door.
Nepal National Abused Air India Cabin Crew Members
As per the reports from ANI, The Delhi police have detained a Nepalese national, identified as Mahesh Pandit. He switched seats on the flight from 26E to 26F and yelled insults at the crew members. According to the FIR, which was filed by the victim’s cabin supervisor, Aditya Kumar, the passenger stopped after they alerted the pilot in command and warned him.
However, after the smoke alarm went off, the passenger was discovered possessing a cigarette lighter inside the restroom. The Air India cabin supervisor, Aditya Kumar, shared that the moment a crew member opened the door in front of the accused, he shoved him aside and sprinted to seat 26F. Mahesh Pandit verbally assaulted him when he attempted to stop him. He later broke LAV door 3F-RC.
Later, the crew members informed the captain of the incident and attempted to restrain him with the help of two cabin crew members, and 10 passengers. The supervisor later shared more details of the incident with the police. He shared how the accused even tried to beat the passengers on board after the crew tried to restrain him.

Delhi Police Registered A Complaint Against The Passenger
In accordance with Sections 323/506/336 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 22, 23, and 25 of the Aircraft Rules, the Delhi Police have filed a complaint against the passenger, and an additional investigation is in progress. Several incidents of passengers allegedly peeing or acting inappropriately on board have been reported over the past few months.
As per the reports, Delhi police are further investigating this case of abuse against Air India cabin crew members.
