However, in recent times tourism has been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To revive the sluggish tourism industry, Neputa, a Japanese traditional festival was organised in the Tohoku region. According to an ANI report, Neputa festival was organised in the Aomori Prefecture of Japan’s Tohoku Region. As mentioned above, this was organised to revive the sluggish Japanese tourism industry that has been affected by the pandemic. It took place at the Tokyo Dome, which is generally used for baseball games and the fiesta featured both fetching traditional crafts and equally tempting local delicacies. In fact, these traditional crafts were also the highlight of the festival!

The Furusato Festival Tokyo 2023 held many attractions for visitors and the traditional dishes served here were a hit. Potato Butter, a popular dish from Hokkaido also saw many takers and these were enjoyed with flavourful salted squid. For those who aren’t aware, Potato Butter is a dish, which is made with pure butter and is then topped with salted squid, spicy Pollack Roe, cheese, salmon, and sea urchin. Sounds fascinatingly tempting, Doesn’t it?

A Foodies’ Haven At The Festival

Besides the aforementioned delicacy from Hokkaido, Japanese eel fish was also the star of the event. As it happens, several seafood dishes were available for the visitors to try! These also included Nodoguro, a deep-sea fatty fish found in the Japanese Sea. And the famed Donburi (Bowl), which typically has cooked local food on top of the rice was also served.
