The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority is constantly trying to ensure that the people in Dubai have the best amenities and infrastructure to make life easier for them. And keeping up with this idea, they have an ambitious plan that aims to enhance traffic and flow to support the emirate’s rapid urban expansion. We are talking about the Al Qudra Street Development Project which aims to improve mobility, not just for the residents, but even for the visitors.
Al Qudra Street Development Project Announced
The Dubai RTA recently launched the Al Qudra Street Development Project, which aims to significantly improve mobility for both residents and visitors. It also aims to accommodate the growing population of the city and the cost of this development project is AD798 million. Moreover, the project also aims to reduce the travel time from 9.4 minutes to a mere 2.8 minutes along Al Qudra Street.
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that this project is bound to benefit about 400,000 residents and visitors. These are in the residential and commercial areas in the neighbourhood. As it happens, this stretches from the intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, which passes through Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street before reaching the Emirates Road. Moreover, this project also includes major infrastructural announcements. Yes, complete with multiple interchange upgrades, 2700 meters of new bridge, and an 11.6 km road expansion this is truly a monumental project.
For those who want to work, the project serves important development areas, which include Arabian Ranches 1 and 2, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Studio City, DAMAC Hills, Mudon, Akoya, and Sustainable City.

Additionally, there was also announcement of intersections between Al Qudra Street and the connecting road that’s between Arabian Ranches and Dubai Studio City. These are as follows
- A new 600 m bridge with four lanes in each direction will be constructed. This will boost the road capacity from the existing 6600 to 19,200 vehicles per hour this upgrade is going to reduce waiting time and intersections from the existing 113 seconds to 52 seconds.
- A 700 m bridge with seven lanes in both directions will also be constructed at the intersection of Al Qudra Street with Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street.
- Moreover, a 500-meter bridge is going to make traffic flow from Al Qudra Street to Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street in the direction of Jebel Ali.
- There will be a 900 m bridge that will also be built on this street. This will be serving the traffic that heads from Al Qudra Street to Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, which is in the direction of Downtown Dubai and Dubai International Airport.
Doesn’t it sound amazing? Well, not only this, the project also extends Al Qudra Street to the Emirates Road. These lanes will be expanded in both directions along 3.4 km of Al Qudra Street. Moreover, the subsequent phase will introduce a 4.8 km road, which will link the Southern part of the development zone with Emirates Road.
So, once this project is complete, it’s bound to make life easier for people in Dubai.
