New Baggage Rule Announced For UAE Residents Travelling To Schengen Countries, Here’s All You Need To Know

Yes, from September 1 onwards, there is going to be a change in the hand luggage regulation that you might want to know.

UAE Residents Now Allowed To Carry 100 ML Liquid

From September 1 onwards, UAE residents and tourists who will be flying to the Schengen countries will now be allowed to carry a maximum of only 100 ML liquid in their hand luggage. Announced by the European Council, this has also been stated that the decision is a temporary move and it’s not in response to any threat. Yes, in a report by Khaleej Times, it was mentioned that the European Council has temporarily enforced this rule at EU Airports by utilising Explosive Detection Systems for Cabin Bags.

Change In Hand Baggage Not In Response To Any Threat

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that these systems will ascertain that the liquid carried is more than 100 ML. The precautionary measures addresses a temporary technical issue and is not in any response to new threat. It’s no secret that European countries are a popular destination for tourists, especially among the UAE residents. In fact, large number of European nationals also live in the UAE for work purposes. It’s worth noting that most airports around the world have limits on the amount of liquid that passengers can carry in their hand luggage.

And recently, UAE residents are also facing significant challenges in obtaining these visas. In fact, Balkon countries are in high demand and other European countries like the UK and Turkey have appointments that are readily available.
