Flight AI2380, operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, was scheduled to take off around 11 pm from Delhi to Singapore with over 200 passengers onboard. As per a report by India Today, they had to deboard after sitting inside for almost two hours because of a faulty air conditioning system. The crew then escorted the passengers back to the terminal building. Videos on social media show travellers fanning themselves with magazines inside the cabin before being asked to deplane.
Vivek Tankha, a Member of Parliament, was also on the flight. He took to X to share his frustration. He wrote, “Air India flight & its service seem gravely impacted. Not a good experience. @DGCAIndia.” The politician also added that passengers were not only uncomfortable but also ‘agitated’.

Airline Issues Statement
According to Live Mint, Air India later issued a statement clarifying the situation. They said passengers were kept informed about the delay, with ground staff providing full support. To reduce inconvenience, refreshments and meals were also offered at the airport. The Singapore-bound flight eventually departed around 5:36 am on Thursday, after authorities decided to change the aircraft.
Faulty air conditioning systems on flights not only cause discomfort but can also pose significant health risks. Without proper cooling, the cabin can get extremely hot and even lead to heat exhaustion. This is why such cases are taken seriously by the airline authorities.
