The Cost, Routes, & Connectivity Of This Initiative
The Goa four-lane road project has been allocated a budget of ₹557 crore. This road will cover the route of 9.6 km from Ponda to Bhoma on National Highway 748. This route will connect to the existing four-lane route between Ponda, Khandepar, and the Ribandar bypass.
The road is aimed to significantly enhance travel between Goa’s capital, Panaji, and Ponda, which will offer a faster route. Moreover, it will also improve access to Dabolim Airport and Mormugao Port via National Highways 566 and 66.
The new four-lane road upgrade will alleviate issues like heavy traffic on Ponda-Bhoma Road causing jams and frequent accidents.
