It was recently revealed that Dubai’s iconic old emblem has now taken a new look. And now, it has been adopted as the new logo for the government of Dubai. Symbolising the emirate’s visionary leadership, evolution into the city of the future, and transformative development journey, it will be used across all government entities. In fact, this was approved by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Crown Prince of Dubai and the Chairman of the Executive Council.

The Government Of Dubai Adopts New Emblem

The old emblem of the Government of Dubai now boasts a new look. And this new emblem was approved by the Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. In fact, it is tailored to be aligned with the ambition of Dubai. So, there are several elements in the new logo that have some major significance and symbolise something special.

What Does Each Element Symbolise?

The new emblem of Dubai has several components, each of which symbolises something important.

  • The Falcon
    Symbolising authenticity and pride, this element sets Dubai apart. And, it represents the sharp vision, which mirrors Dubai’s aspiration for the future.
  • The Dhow
    With a historical significance in Dubai, it was the centre for trade and cultural exchange. This is embedded in the Sambouq, thereby portraying its status as a global economic hub.
  • The Palm Tree
    Exemplifying generosity and hospitality, this element reflects the emirate’s authentic values. Moreover, it is supported by the fact that it welcomes millions of visitors with warmth and graciousness.
  • The Flag
    Represented as a shield, this symbolises the safety and security, which is enjoyed by all the residents and visitors in the emirate.
  • The Ghaf Leaf
    Regarded as the national symbol of flexibility, tolerance, agility, and coexistence, this is another important element of the logo.

Sheikh Hamdan Directs The Use Of The Emblem Across All Govt Entities

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that the Executive Council of Dubai has been entrusted with the important task of overlooking the implementation of this new logo across all government entities. This was directed to them by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan
