Delhi’s Tamasha makes it way to Mumbai. Brings along its gold, glitter and bling. Making its Mumbai counterparts look a tad bit dull.
What is it?
Screaming for attention from one of Mumbai’s busiest corporate parks, Kamala Mills, looks like Tamasha Mumbai is here to stay. The decor is plush with dangling filament bulbs. The vibe is fun with DJ playing EDM. The fragrance is good enveloped with fusion food. Did we mention Madras Curry Chicken Risotto? Yes, things like that.
What’s In It?
Dangling glass shards from the ceiling are the first to catch your eye. You will be instantly reminded of the showy stuff Delhi is known for. It is certainly a welcome relief from the dark dining lounges. Pictures of London’s red telephone booth, Marilyn Monroe, the Eiffel Tower, Jaguars add a pop culture element to the walls.
Look close enough and you will also notice a detail of Koi fish there somewhere. A colossal bar, limited only by the length of the space, is enhanced with curio collection.
Divided in two sections, Tamasha entices you with an indoor as well as an al fresco seating! On the contrary, the al fresco area is kept simple, sheltered under trees and jazzed up with pretty lights. We strongly recommend you to book a table before you get there!
What’s On The Menu
The Mumbai menu is a lovely fusion of contemporary and experimental Indian cuisine.
Skip the whiskey infused dal, instead try the Stuffed Chicken Winglet, Achari Mushroom Wonton, Bhatti Murg Souvlaki and Indian spicy Macaroni Ball.
The delectable dessert spread includes Mumbai mawa cake toast, crisp moong dal halwa cigars and the banoffee cheesecake jar.
Verdict by Miss Jani
Tamasha takes the concept of elegant dining to a different level altogether. With its expensive-looking interiors & innovative food creations, this one has emerged as my current red hot favourite from Mumbai’s social scene. Its the kind of a place where I would like to take my outstation guests to show off the city’s hip nightlife. When you go there, you must eat Stuffed Chicken Winglet. Meet server Prakash as he would take good care of you. I would easily give it 4/5 stars.
