At the hour when tourist destinations all over the world have been shut down due to coronavirus scare, the deserted Niagara Falls in Canada is witnessing a spectacular view. Hotels surrounding the magnificent waterfall are illuminating their windows in the shape of hearts to spread messages of love and harmony to the residents dwelling in the city.  This is indeed a great move by this group of hotels to light up several souls perturbed and panicked at the face of the pandemic.

‘Heart Of Hope’

The speedy rise in the number of COVID-19 cases has compelled people worldwide to stay indoors and maintain social distancing. While people are apart physically, the unison of hearts is extremely vital to keep everyone going. The glowing hearts on the hotel facades, which are being called the “Niagara Heart of Hope”, are symbolic of the millions of hearts praying and hoping together for the crisis to end soon.

What’s More?

The border crossing between Canada and the U.S. at the Niagara Falls has been momentarily closed for tourists. The countrywide lockdown has given way to empty rooms in the hotels nearby, that used to be jam-packed with international tourists, even a few days earlier. As informed by the Niagara Falls Tourism, some operations on the falls’ Canadian side are still taking place, but all the dine-in restaurants in Ontario have been indefinitely shut.

While most of the park attractions on both sides of the falls that are subject to public gathering have seen closed, certain areas like Queen Victoria Park, Prospect Point Park and Goat Island will remain open to visitors. This will allow people to take some respite in the lap of nature during this prolonged phase of isolation.
