Nita Ambani was recently felicitated with a prestigious award for her contributions to various fields like arts, sports, education, culture, and more. The award was presented by the Rotary Club of Bombay. Nita Ambani stated that she accepted the award with humility and said that she has cherished her journey as a Rotarian, which she has been for the last 25 years. Nita Ambani who is a prominent businesswoman, philanthropist, and the wife of Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in India. She was recently felicitated with the ‘Citizen of Mumbai’ award by the Rotary Club of Bombay. It is one of the most prestigious awards.

The award was presented to her on account of her numerous contributions in a variety of fields including but not limited to, arts, culture, sports, education, health, etc. In a post shared by the Instagram account of the Reliance Foundation, she said that she accepted the award with humility.

She further mentions that she has great admiration for the contributions of the Rotary Club to Mumbai. Nita Ambani also briefly touched on the history of relations between the Ambani family and the Rotary Club. She stated that she has been a Rotarian for around 25 years now and has cherished her journey.

Some Of Her Most Notable Accomplishments

Among her many notable accomplishments is the fact that in 2016, she became the first Indian woman to be elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee. In 2019, she also became the first Indian to be elected as an Honourary Trustee of the Board of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Also known as the Met, the museum is located in New York and is one of the most famous ones in the world. Nita Ambani is also the founder and the chairperson of the recently-opened Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre or the NMACC which aims to promote art and culture.
