Nitin Gadkari Approves Funds For Improvement Of NH-119 In Bijnor & Pauri & NH-19 In Saran District

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari recently released sanctions for the improvement of two major highways in India. The National Highway-19, which is in the Saran district and National Highway-119 in Bijnor and Pauri districts, will see this development. One involves the widening of the existing 2nd Gen Chhapra Bypass section while the other involves the construction of a 6-km long 4-lane Kotdwar Bypass. Here’s all you need to know about this development.

₹481.86 Cr For Widening Of 2nd Gen Chhapra Bypass Section Of NH-19

Recently on the official X account of PIB, it was revealed that Shri Nitin Gadkari has sanctioned a whopping ₹481.86 crores for the widening of National Highway-19 in Saran district. Located in the state of Bihar, this will involve the widening of the existing 2nd Gen Chhapra Bypass section of the highway. This means, with three additional lanes, travelling on the route is bound to make traffic flow smoother. Not to mention, it is also going to reduce the travel time! As it happens, with this project, there will be seamless connectivity to the Poorvanchal Expressway from Hajipur (Patna)- Rivilganj- Ballia-Ghazipur. As a result, the overall economic development of the region is bound to get a boost as well!

Sanction Of ₹691.70 Cr For Construction Of Kotdwar Bypass

 

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways also approved sanctions of ₹691.70 crores for the construction of a 6-km long 4-lane Kotdwar Bypass. This will be in the Bijnor and Pauri districts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on the National Highway-119. With the construction of the bypass in Kotdwar city, there will be a reduction in congestion in the city. As a result, there will be increased connectivity with Uttar Pradesh and will also promote the development of tourism in the state. Not to mention, it will also improve connectivity to the pilgrimage sites of Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham.

So, once these projects are complete, travelling on these highways are bound to be easier, as it is expected to reduce the travel time.
