Nitin Gadkari Doesn’t Eat Paneer & Mushroom; Finds Potato Unhealthy

Nitin Gadkari

Curly Tales was invited to the beautiful residence of the Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, in Delhi. Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, talked about electric cars, Mumbai v/s Delhi debate, travel and other fascinating topics with Nitin. While conversing about food, our guest shared that he doesn’t eat paneer, potatoes and mushrooms. Read on to learn the reason.

Nitin Gadkari Avoids Paneer, Mushroom And Potato

Nitin couldn’t stop raving about how good Mumbai is as a city, especially regarding food. The City of Dreams has a great reputation for late-night eateries that are pocket-friendly, unlike Delhi. This is one of the major reasons why the minister loves to satiate his pangs of hunger in the financial capital.

He enjoys eating street food like bhel puri, pav bhaji, vada pav and more. Our guest talked about how the capital of India offers him little to no vegetarian options! He is disappointed that Delhi only has dishes with potato and paneer. He said, “Main paneer aur mushroom nahi khaata aur potato yeh health ke liye acha nahi hai.”

He tries to control his food indulgences to look after his health. So, he avoids potatoes because it’s unhealthy and it may spike his blood sugar levels. On the other hand, the taste of paneer and mushrooms doesn’t excite him too much.

What Was His First Time In Delhi Like?

As a Maharashtrian, Nitin wasn’t used to the harsh winters of Delhi. He shared a hilarious anecdote from his youthful days when he landed in Delhi donning just a shirt and sweater. It was his first time in the capital, and he wasn’t aware of the harsh cold temperature!

His casual winter attire wasn’t enough to warm him given the single-digit temperature. He shared with us that to attend a press conference, for which he was in Delhi, he borrowed and wore a thick coat from a security guard!
