The Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, was the star of one episode of Sunday Brunch. Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, flew to the capital of India, Delhi, to meet the minister who happens to be a massive foodie and a globetrotter, just like us! We got a tour of his lovely residence in Delhi and chatted about food and Indian travel destinations. This time, we focus on Nitin Gadkari’s suggestion to visit the Nagpur-Jabalpur Wildlife Corridor.
Nitin Gadkari Prompts Us To Visit The Nagpur-Jabalpur Wildlife Corridor
We relished an amazing Maharashtrian food spread with the minister and caught up on the upcoming and unique highway projects. Nitin Gadkari spoke about the wonderful Nagpur-Jabalpur Wildlife Corridor located on NH-44. It is India’s first dedicated wildlife corridor constructed in the Nagpur-Jabalpur section where development meets nature.
Nitin elaborated that he made a beautiful bypass inside Pench National Park. Automobiles can drive through the bypass under the forest. A section covering the forest allows tigers and other wildlife animals to cross from one end to the other.
This also allows the travellers to catch glimpses of animals, if they are nearby or crossing, while following safety measures. This sounds so impressive and right out of a movie scene! He urged us to make a trip and witness this Wildlife Corridor in its full glory.

While we were discussing roadway and transport development, Nitin shared his ideal plans for the upcoming months. He revealed that he was able to increase the construction time of highways from 12 km in a day to 38 km in a day! The minister plans to reach the 60 km in a day mark soon.
He appreciated all the skilful engineers and contractors who helped boost the work. They are the real gem behind these projects as they work day and night to bring forth incredible architectural marvels. Roadways, transport systems and highways of India are developing rapidly and we love to see it, Nitin ji.
