Nearly 400 IndiGo flyers have been stranded at Istanbul Airport for over 24 hours now. This is due to delays and cancellations of flights from Istanbul to Delhi and Mumbai, and this has left the passengers angered. Many of them took to social media platforms to voice their frustration and shared that no clear communication has been made from the airline officials and hundreds of passengers have been left with no food, accommodation, and limited lounge access.

According to India Today, more than 400 passengers flying with IndiGo have been stranded at Istanbul Airport for over a day now. It all began when a flight from Istanbul to Delhi that was scheduled to depart at 8:10 PM on December 12, was initially delayed to the next day at 1:30 PM. Reportedly, the flyers were not provided with sufficient information or support by the airline.

On the same day, a flight from Istanbul to Mumbai which was initially scheduled to depart at 8:15 PM on December 12, was pushed to 11:00 PM. The flight was again delayed to the following morning at 10 AM. What was more frustrating for the passengers was that IndiGo wasn’t sharing updates or announcements about these flights. Rather, Turkish Airlines staff were providing them with updates.

Reportedly, despite promises of lounge access as compensation for the delay, passengers were left stranded as the lounge at Istanbul Airport was overcrowded. This comes days after IndiGo was rated among the world’s worst airlines in 2024 by AirHelp.
