Airports are generally equipped with decent facilities and maintain cleanliness. May it be a domestic or international airport, they have everything as per their needs. However, that is not the case with Shirdi International Airport. There have been several complaints from passengers visiting the airport.
Passengers Complaint About Facilities At Shirdi Airport
On the weekends, there is a lot of congestion at the Shirdi airport, according to passengers. The majority of them blamed the airport administration for being powerless to control the situation. According to a Times Of India report, a passenger’s elderly father had to wait for almost two hours waiting for a flight. There was no place to sit and there wasn’t even much room to stand comfortably. Many passengers were grumbling, but the airport administration had no answers.
According to another passenger, there is a huge crowd at the airport. There is no one to clean the bathrooms when they become filthy. Inside the building, it is quite hot and muggy. On complaints, the authorities have yet to take action.

It Is The 4th Busiest Airport
Located in Maharashtra, India, Shirdi Airport is a domestic airport that serves the city. It is situated at Kakadi, which is 22 kilometres from Sangamner and 14 km southwest of the city. After Nagpur, Pune, and Mumbai airports, it is the state’s fourth busiest airport.
The Maharashtra Airport Development Company Limited (MADC) is in charge of running the airport. On Saturdays and Sundays, travellers were having issues, according to sources at the airport. The capacity of the current terminal building is 1,700 passengers, which can be held and managed. However, the airport sees 2,000 people each day on average from Monday through Friday.
However, the number of passengers rises to 2,500 or even 2,700 during the weekends. It gets quite challenging to manage. Quite a few steps have been prepared by the MADC, but their commissioning will take some time.
In short, it is becoming difficult for the authorities to manage a large crowd. And authorities are making an effort to solve it.
