Noida Man Books Uber Auto For ₹62, Receives ₹7.66 Crore Bill; Netizens Share Similar Experiences

Imagine this! You’ve just alighted from an auto rickshaw booked on a ride-hailing platform. The auto rider informs you of the fare. It amounts to several crores. If this isn’t shocking then what is? Recently, a Noida man was presented with an Uber auto bill worth crores of what seemed to be a routine ride that should have been priced at just ₹62. Read on to learn more about his predicament.

Man Charged ₹7.66 Crore Bill For A ₹62 Uber Auto Ride In Noida

Deepak Tenguriya, a journalist, booked an Uber auto in Noida. Initially, the app showed a fare of just 62. However, upon reaching the destination in Noida, Deepak was flabbergasted to receive a bill worth 7.66 crore on the Uber app. Deepak’s friend, Ashish Mishra. shared his reaction on X(formally Twitter). the video showed the dup discussing the exorbitant bill that left the friends shocked.

Ashish supplemented the video with a caption, sarcastically remarking that Deepak had become so rich that he was thinking of taking the Uber franchise next. Moreover, he remarked his friend had become a crorepati loanee instantly by just booking an Uber auto for 62. The driver hadn’t even ended the ride, yet the fare had hit the skies.

Netizens Share Similar Experiences & Goof-ups

In the video, Deepak shows a fare of  7,66,83,762 on the Uber app. The Nodia man jokingly remarks that he’s never counted that many zeroes in his life before. Ashish jokes that this bill probably exceeds Chandrayaan’s bill. Furthermore, a promotional discount of 75 was deducted. However, 5,99,09189 was charged as waiting time.

Responding to the goof-up on X, Uber apologised for the inconvenience caused. The customer care assured Deepak that they would look into the issue and revert with an update.

Meanwhile, Netizens took to the comments section to highlight similar experiences they faced. One X user stated she was charged ₹17,000 for a ₹2000 trip by Ola in Noida. Another man was charged ₹2,28,22,601 for a ₹66 ride on Uber.
