Shreya Priyam Roy, one of India’s leading female comedians, explored the gullies of Delhi NCR with us on our show, Tere Gully Mein. This time, we didn’t just stop at checking out our guest’s favourite haunts. We went a step further! Shreya Priyam Roy Shares Momos & Stories With Us
While gorging on momos at Momo Market, we made sure to check out Shreya’s favourite spot, Chimney Sizzlers. The juicy, well-seasoned momos truly stole the show, as did our hilarious conversation with her. We asked her what she aspired to become as a child. “I thought I’ll pursue IAS(Indian Administrative Service)” as she was told to pursue UPSC by her loved ones. Steering away from the first plan, she also wanted to become a painter for a while.
But later, she dropped the idea as she didn’t have a role model to look up to as a child. While she looked up to Van Gogh and Picasso, she reasoned, in her childhood, that perhaps people didn’t pursue art as a career in India. During her college days, she met people from different walks of life, and that’s when she came to the realisation that one can pursue art apart from academics. And one can succeed as well.
