Not Just Beaches, Goa’s Sancoale District Is Attracting Tourists At This Temple Inside BITS Pilani

There’s more to do in Goa rather than just hanging around on beaches. Mostly known for its picturesque beaches, but the state is also home to a large number of temples, which are spread across its various districts. The temples in Goa are known for their unique architecture, intricate carvings, and rich history. Now, the Radha-Krishna temple at the BITS Pilani Goa campus in Sancoale is regarded as an emerging tourist spot.

This New Temple In Sancoale Is An Emerging Tourist Spot

Constructed by the Birla family, the temple offers a spiritual and cultural experience to all who visit it. The architecture of the temple is inspired by traditional Hindu temple architecture, with intricate carvings and sculptures adorning the walls and ceilings.

The temple also has a large courtyard, where devotees can sit and meditate, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings. With a decorative peacock at the entrance and lotus-motif ceiling lights, the magnificent white temple adds calm and peace to the campus. This new temple is another addition to the Sancoale village of South Goa.

Sancoale Is Home To Various Temples In Goa

Sancoale village is home to several ancient temples that are of great historical and religious significance.

One of the most famous temples in Sancoale is the Sri Saptakoteshwar Temple. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be over 1,000 years old.  Another famous temple is the Sri Kamakshi Temple. It is dedicated to Goddess Kamakshi, a form of Goddess Parvati. The temple is believed to be over 500 years old and is known for its beautiful carvings and architecture. The temples in Sancoale are a testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of the region.

In addition to these, there are many other temples in Goa that are worth a visit.

Another famous temple in Goa is the Shree Mangeshi Temple. It is located in the Ponda district and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple dates back to the 18th century and is known for its grand architecture. The highlight of the temple is its beautiful dome, which is covered with gold.
