Not Just The Iconic Laddoos, Did You Know Tirupati Temple Serves A Jalebi Mala As Prasad? Netizens Call It “Mouthwatering”

Tirupati Temple is one of the most revered and powerful temples in India. And the prasad served here is iconic, to say the least. And while most people are aware of the ubiquitous Tirupati Laddoos, made with ghee, gram flour, dry fruits, sugar and spices, many are unaware of another famous prasadam served at the temple— Jalebi Mala.

Tirupati Temple Serves Jalebi Mala As Prasad

Food content creator Aruna Mucherla took to her Instagram handle @mucherla.aruna to show her followers a Jalebi Mala. In her reel, she shows a massive jalebi, bigger than the plate it’s placed on. Aruna informs that it is the famous prasad, Jalebi Mala offered to the deity at Tirupati Temple. Devotees later, take parcels of this jalebi home to distribute it amongst their loved ones. 

While Aruna was aware of the temple’s iconic and fragrant laddos, she recently discovered their Jalebi Mala (Jalebi Garland). The content creator informs that this massive Jalebi is half sweet and half savoury in flavour. So, you get the best of both flavours! In her caption, she writes that it’s also touted to be the world’s largest jalebi. This larger-than-life jalebi is received by devotees as prasadam after darshan.

Netizens Are Amazed By This Dish

Nestled in the foothills of Tirumala in the Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to  Lord Venkateswara. A form of Lord Vishnu, this deity is believed to have appeared on the earth to save humankind from the trials and tribulations of Kali Yuga.

Many Hindu devotees, go on a pilgrimage to Tirupati Temple which is believed to be a wish-fulfilling temple. Instagrammers took to the comments section to throw more light on this prasad. @shrikakula informs that the Jalebi Mala is made early morning every Wednesday and is not available at all times. @somu_pintu said it is called “Muttasu” by the people in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Many others were surprised to see the large jalebi and called it “mouthwatering.”
