This is a 10th-century Hanuman temple situated in Sai Nagar. It is believed that this was the spot where Lord Hanuman stayed to protect Ayodhya. To witness the 6-inch-tall Hanuman idol, you have to take 76 steps to its entrance. This quick workout is also awarded with great views of the surrounding hills. It is said that it is customary to visit this temple in Ayodhya before heading over to Ram Temple.

This temple in Ayodhya built over 300 years is just at the banks of Naya Ghat and comprises idols of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lord Lakshman, Lord Hanuman, Lord Bharat, and Lord Sugreev. What is so special about this? It is believed that all these idols are carved out from a single black sandstone! Also, it stands on the same spot where Ashwamedha Yagna was performed by Lord Ram. It is to be noted that Treta Ke Thakur opens to the public only on Ekadashi. It is observed on Shukla Paksha’s eleventh day of Karthik month, according to the Hindu calendar.

3. Nageshwarnath Temple

The vibrant colours of this temple in Theri Bazaar, Ayodha is another important spot that you have to visit. It is dedicated to Lord Nageshwarnath and is believed to be constructed by Kush, Lord Ram’s son. The story behind this temple goes that Kush lost his armlet in the Sarayu River. It was found by Nag-Kanya who was a devotee of Shiva and happened to fall in love with Kush. Therefore, he set up this temple for her.

Kanak Bhawan is also known as Sone-ka-Ghar as it translates to Golden Palace. This Bundela-styled temple is situated in Tulsi Nagar and has stood since 1891! This holy Bhawan is dedicated to Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. it is believed that this was gifted to them by Kaikeyi, Ram’s stepmother. it houses three golden-crowned idols under a silver roof in Garbagriha.
