Etihad Airways has recently announced that it has come into a codeshare agreement with Batik Air Malaysia. What this means is that customers will now be able to travel to find new destinations in the country, which includes Johor Bahru, Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, and Tawau. Moreover, the national carrier of the UAE will also enable travellers to connect to the cities of Hanoi and Da Nang in Vietnam.

But if you’re wondering how this will be possible, it’s quite simple. Through a single ticket, passengers will be able to get access to the combined services of both these carriers.

Yes, customers will be able to access these locations through the Batik’s hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. It should be noted that this hub is serviced twice by Etihad Airways from Abu Dhabi. It’s worth also mentioning that travellers will also be able to get their luggage transferred to their final destination. According to a report by Khaleej Times, it was revealed that these new routes are already in operation and flights have commenced from July 16 onwards.

So with this agreement, inbound and outbound Malaysia passengers will get to have a wider choice of flights. Moreover, it’s going to further enhance the connectivity of Etihad Airways and its passengers, thereby ensuring a more convenient travel experience. So, if you are planning to travel to Malaysia, you might want to keep this development in mind.
