Ghee tea has become the internet’s latest obsession and according to Delhi-based nutritionist Dr. Shilpa Arora, adding a bit of ghee to your black tea can help treat constipation! This new desi ghee and chai concoction has intrigued Netizens and they have a lot of questions. Read on to find out more about this ghee tea drink.

Delhi-based nutritionist Dr. Shilpa Arora is quite active on Instagram. With 101K followers, she posts recipes and healthy meal alternatives to help people become healthier and treat issues like hair fall, weight loss, indigestion, and constipation. In one of her recent videos, she suggested having ghee tea. She recommended adding a teaspoon of desi A2 ghee to black tea to treat one of the biggest issues in today’s time – constipation!

According to her video, adding ghee to chai is an old Ayurvedic recipe and can help alleviate constipation. Having this tea can improve your digestive functioning, nourish the intestinal lining, and also improve nutrient absorption. Dr. Shilpa Arora suggests brewing one cup of regular tea. She then suggests adding 1 teaspoon of desi A2 ghee to the black tea to ease constipation.

As you can imagine, Netizens had a lot of questions about this chai and desi ghee concoction. They had questions like who can drink ghee tea, what’s the best time to drink it, and if pregnant women can have it or not, and Dr. Shilpa Arora answered them all. To begin with, the best time to have this tea is in the morning, but if you have a severe case of constipation, then you can drink it at night as well.

She recommends it to adults, and even pregnant women can have it till their 3rd trimester. When asked why she chose A2 desi ghee, she replied that due to the superior quality of the ghee, she chose to use it in her diet. However, you can use any good quality ghee to make ghee tea.
