UAE has announced that July 7, which is a Sunday, will be a holiday for private sector employees. However, this means that there is no long weekend in sight for the Islamic New Year. And the work will resume as normal on Monday, July 8.

As it happens, this announcement comes after Oman announced a holiday for both public and private sectors on July 7. It’s worth mentioning that the people in Oman are bound to get a long weekend as several official establishments recognise Friday as the official holiday. This means Friday, Saturday, and Sunday would be off for several workers from both government and private sectors, resulting in a long weekend. It’s worth mentioning that the UAE residents do have a couple of holidays left before the year ends. This includes the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday and the National Day.

However, it’s worth noting that the official holiday has not yet been announced by either of the nations. Coming to Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa who is the Crown Prince and Prime Minister has announced that public institutions and kingdoms ministries will be closed on July 7. And it seems, the nation is also ready to celebrate a three-day weekend, extending from Friday.
