Have you also been meaning to travel to Oman? Well, you don’t need to rely solely on flights anymore. This is so because you can soon do so via bus from October onwards as the Oman-UAE bus service is set to re-commence. Yes, and this service is all set to begin on October 1, Sunday! Called the Mwasalat, this is the national transport company of Oman, which recently took to its official account on X (formerly Twitter) that the services will restore this viable travel connection for Omani residents to the cities of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. At this point, it should be noted that this announcement comes after services were temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as reported by the Khaleej Times. Not to mention, before the service was suspended, the bus operated between Muscat and Dubai.
What About Tickets & Baggage Allowance?
In case you’re wondering about the ticket, for a one-way ticket from Muscat to Abu Dhabi, the cost will be OMR11.5, which rounds up to AED109. Not to mention, around 23 kg of luggage is allowed in addition to the passengers carrying a handbag of up to 7 kg. This is a brilliant move, as it comes as an economical option for travelling between the two cities, especially in the midst of sky-high airfares. As people will be able to reach Muscat in just about six hours, this also includes immigration and other services. Not to mention, the journey is quite scenic as the traveller gets to see the changing landscape before their eyes while they travel between the two countries.
So, if you have also been planning to visit the country, but are worried about the hefty airfares that you might have to pay, you will soon have an economical option as a choice as well.
