Not just politicians and celebrities, even residents of Girgaum often frequented the 100-year-old restaurant cum bakery for a leisurely evening beer or an afternoon bun maska with Irani chai. it’s quite unfortunate that the reason for Sun Shine bakery’s shutdown is not due to a change in management, losses or even COVID-19 pandemic-induced losses. Rather, it has everything to do with the over 120-year-old building that is in extremely poor condition, with no room to salvage.

Well, we bid goodbye to Sun-Shine Irani restaurant and bakery with heavy hearts. We hope in the coming months they may reopen in another location in a whole new avatar. Adios!
