Celebrating Krishna Janmashtami in Vrindavan

vrindavan

Radhe radhe! Poore Braj me aap kahi bhi jao, Hi, Bye, Please, Thank you, Sorry inn sabhi shabdon ke liye log sirf ek term use karte hai- Radhe radhe! Brajdham, the region in UP with numerous stories of Radha Krishna has Mathura-Vrindavan as its center with the holy river Yamuna flowing right through it. Every location in this region is filled with stories of radha krishna, their Raasleela, krishna’s baal leela and so much folklore. Vrindavan lies at the center of all these tales. Janmashtami in Vrindavan was celebrated this year on the 7th of September and we were elated to be a part of it. We went around the town throughout the day, listening to stories from Brijwasi about their beloved krishna kanhaiya, the evening was spent boating and taking in the sunset on the ghats of the magical river yamuna followed by the ghat aarti. And the night was spent celebrating the birth of Krishna as we indulged in the festivities of Janmashtami at the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir.
