The Backwaters Of Kerala In A Houseboat | I Love My India EP 60 | Curly Tales

You can’t visit Kerala and not stay on a ‘Kettuvallam’ or a traditional houseboat as they call it!

During my recent trip to God’s Own Country, ‘Kerala,’ I stayed in a quintessential houseboat and experienced that beautiful Backwater life.

@cghearth ‘s Spice Coast Cruises showed me a side of Kerala like never before. I cruised and dined amidst the Vembanad lake. Back in the day, the boats used to carry cargoes of rice and spices up and down these same waterways for decades.

The best thing about this houseboat is that you can take a pit stop at a nearby village, hop on a bicycle ride.

Get the chance to meet and mingle with the locals. It was indeed ‘hospitality straight from the heart’ and what a heartfelt experience it was!
