Visiting India’s Largest Hockey Stadium | The Hockey World Cup 2023 In Odisha | Ep 68 | Curly Tales

This new year of 2023, India hosted the FIH Hockey World Cup for the second consecutive time since 2018. But the festivities were much grander this time around. The Hockey World Cup celebrations were not only restricted to the stadiums but also the streets. The city was beautifully lit up and the tourists, fans, and locals had an array of activities to indulge in like storytelling sessions, food festivals, night bazaar, and heritage trails. The Odisha Government who were the official sponsors for the World Cup left no stone unturned in building a separate venue in Rourkela- The Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium which is the largest seated stadium in the world. They built the stadium in just 15 months with state-of-the-art facilities for the players including stays, recreation, training centers, a swimming pool, World Cup village, 24×7 operational cafes and restaurants, and a surreal experience for the players to play at.
