Lifestyle coach and celebrity nutritionist Luke Coutinho took to Instagram to reveal that Masala chai helps boost immunity. Luke Coutinho reveals that tea leaves and spices used to prepare chai has a rich nutrient profile. This helps nourish us from within and even boost our immunity. The captioned the post “How many of you enjoy your cup of Indian chai ….it’s an immune booster on its own because of the black tea leaves and all the spices ….until you add all that refined sugar to it …and spoil it ….use jaggery instead or do it plain.” Apart from educating everyone about the health benefits of Masala chai, he also shared his own special Masala chai recipe.

Nutritionist Luke Coutinho’s Masala Chai Recipe
His recipe uses 1 cinnamon stick, 4 cardamom pods, 3 cloves, 3 black peppercorns, 1/4 tsp ginger, 1/4 tsp fennel seeds and 1-2 tsp loose tea leaves. To prepare this special masala chai, boil all the masala in water. Next, switch off the flame. Add the tea leaves and close the lid. Let the tea leaves get infused with the flavours of the masala. Finally, strain the tea and sip it with a dash of jaggery. Coutinho’s Masala chai would surely intrigue you.
