He passed away at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital at around 11 this morning. He was 72 years old. The ghazal maestro has been the voice of some of the biggest chart-busters in the Indian music industry and his demise has left the country shaken.

The news was shared by his daughter Nayaab Udhas. She posted about this sad news on her Instagram handle. According to reports, the singer’s last rites will be held on Tuesday, February 27.
