You can no longer carry electronic items like pagers and walkie-talkies on an Emirates flight to or from Dubai. Pagers, Walkie-Talkies Prohibited On Emirates’s Dubai Flights
According to an article which was recently published by Gulf News, this announcement was made on Friday, October 3, 2024. The announcement stipulated that passengers are now prohibited from carrying pagers and Walkie-Talkies on Emirates flights to and from Dubai.
This new mandate applies to both, checked-in luggage as well as carry-on or hand luggage. The announcement also specified that if any of these items are found in the luggage of the passengers, then the items will be confiscated by the Dubai Police.

Items Prohibited In Carry-On Luggage
- Weapons and explosives
- Flammable substances
- Toxic or infectious substances
- Corrosive materials
- Compressed gases
- Large sporting equipment
- Tools longer than 7 inches
Items Allowed In Limited Quantities
- Liquids, aerosols, and gels: Must be in containers of 100ml/3.4oz or less, placed in a clear, resealable plastic bag (1 litre/1 quart capacity)
- Baby food and milk: Allowed in reasonable quantities
- Special dietary requirements: Allowed with proper documentation
Items Prohibited In Checked-In Luggage
- Explosives and flammable items
- Toxic or infectious substances
- Corrosive materials
- Compressed gases (except for personal medical use)
- Radioactive materials
- Illegal narcotics
Items Not Allowed In Carry-Ons But Not Checked-In Luggages
- Lithium batteries
- E-cigarettes and vaping devices
- Power banks
- Matches and lighters (limited to one per person)
- Valuable items (jewellery, cash, important documents)
