Every time you fly back to Pakistan from the UAE, there’s always that mini panic about mobile registration, right? Well, breathe easy because Pakistan has introduced a tax-free mobile registration system just for overseas Pakistanis. It’s a given that a massive Pakistani community lives in the UAE. So, no more registration headaches on arrival, at least for a while!

UAE Expats Can Register For Tax-Free Mobile Access In Pakistan

Bus On Demand Service

So here’s the scoop: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) recently rolled out a Temporary Mobile Registration System. This one’s designed for overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals travelling back home, and yes, it comes with a tax-free perk. Under the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) updated policy, you can now register your mobile for free, valid for up to 120 days per visit.

And guess what? It’s fully automated and super simple. All you need to do is jump on the DIRBS portal, that’s short for Device Identification Registration and Blocking System, and within minutes, your phone’s good to go. No wasting time in airport queues, no panicking at the last minute, just easy, stress-free mobile access while you’re back home.

For the Pakistani community in the UAE, this is honestly a game-changer. So many folks fly back regularly for family get-togethers, weddings, or long overdue holidays. With nearly 1.7 million Pakistanis living and working across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and beyond, this little update makes planning your trip home way less stressful.

What Happens If You Don’t Register?

Here’s the technical bit. Normally, if you bring your mobile from abroad, you must register it in Pakistan to ensure it works on local networks. If not, once your temporary grace period expires, your phone could get blocked.

That’s why this system makes life so much easier. This initiative helps keep your communication flowing while you’re visiting Pakistan. The PTA says this is all about making digital access hassle-free for visitors.

Final Thoughts

With thousands of Pakistanis flying to and from the UAE every month, this tax-free mobile registration system couldn’t have come at a better time. Over 60,000 Pakistanis have moved to the UAE this year alone, seeking better work opportunities and a slice of the good life here. So for those heading home, this makes staying connected a whole lot smoother.
