He Enlightened Us About The Making Of This Snack
Without much waiting, freshly made plates of veg pattice, chocolate dessert and chana-coconut barfis were served to us. The layered, flakey and crunchy pattice sprinkled with sesame seeds on top looked so appetising. The fresh aroma just hit our noses and we couldn’t wait to dig in!
Both of them picked a pattice each and took a bit. The savoury flavours of this snack just hit the right spot for them and Pankaj began educating us about its making. He said that it is made with maida or all-purpose flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. This dough is then rolled out many times, folded and rolled again. This is how the layers are formed.
The next step is to cut the dough into pieces, add the stuffing and shape it. Then keep it aside to let the dough proof for an hour or so. Now, the tray is directly put in the oven at 800°C to 1000°C for about eight to 10 minutes and voila, you just made pattice!
