According to an article that was recently published by The Times of India or TOI, the pilots of flight SG-3445 decided to divert due to a possible issue with the wing. If reports are to go by, this happened about half an hour after takeoff. Thankfully, they landed safely at Bagdogra around 11:52 AM.

Passenger safety was clearly their top priority. However, things got a bit messy after that. SpiceJet cancelled the return flight from Patna to Guwahati, which, as you can imagine, caused a real headache for everyone involved. The situation was especially frustrating for passengers waiting at Patna airport.

They were left hanging for over three hours, with barely any information about what was going on. Eventually, the cancellation was announced, and understandably, people were not happy. The security hold area at Patna airport became quite chaotic.

Passengers confronted the SpiceJet staff, demanding answers and trying to figure out what to do next. The airline’s slow response and lack of clear communication really added fuel to the fire. It seems like they could have done a much better job of keeping everyone informed and helping them make alternative travel arrangements.

This whole incident raises some important questions about how airlines handle communication during disruptions. While it’s good to see safety procedures working as they should, the way passengers were treated afterwards definitely needs some work.
