Phillipenes Is All Set To Open After 2 Years

Finally, on February 10, 2022, after 2 years, the Philippines is all set to welcome international travellers to its country. It has become the latest South-Asian nation to lift Covid-19 restrictions on international travel. Travellers who have been double vaccinated do not need to be quarantined after they arrive. They must however show a negative PCR test report which should not be older than 48 hours. They also have to self-monitor for seven days after they arrive.

Non-Vaccinated Travellers Must Follow Strict Proptocols

The ones who are not vaccinated yet are allowed to enter the country but will have to follow some rules. They will have to get tested on the fifth day of being quarantined in a government facility and be home quarantined for 14 days. Children below the age of 18 years are free from vaccination criteria.

The Move Will Boost Tourism

The Philippines saw its worst economic recession after 1940 due to the pandemic. According to the government figures, more than a million Filipinos lost their jobs related to tourism in the first year of the pandemic alone. The reopening of the borders will generate cash flow for tourism-related businesses and towns.

Bali and Thailand recently opened their borders for resuming travel that is quarantine free.
