As per reports, the plane was en route to La Ceiba airport on the Honduran mainland. All the survivors were pulled from the crash site and rushed to a local hospital for medical assistance. However, the rescue operation teams are facing several challenges, mainly because the plane crashed into the sea in Honduras. Reportedly, the crash site is surrounded by 30 metres of rocky terrain, making access difficult by land or sea. Furthermore, zero visibility underwater is also affecting efforts by divers. As per Roatán Fire Chief, Wilmer Guerrero, eight passengers are likely still inside the plane.

The cause of the crash is still not clear and the airline has not issued a statement yet.
