PM Modi Witnesses Bastille Day Parade
This year’s Bastille Day parade honours India as its Guest of Honour, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron were both seated in the VIP tribune.
An Indian tri-services contingent participated in the Bastille Day Parade, and Indian Air Force (IAF) Rafale fighter jets and French jets flew past each other during the event. The national holiday of France, also known as Bastille Day, is observed on July 14 and is commemorated by a protracted military parade, dancing, and other festivities.
As the French President called India ‘a giant in world history’, PM Modi hoped for the bond between the two countries to grow stronger. The Bastille Day parade in Paris had more than 100,000 police officers deployed across the nation. This was to prevent any potential outbreak of trouble.
