As Rajkot gets ready to welcome the world, preparations begin at the airport. The 2nd Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for the Saurashtra-Kutch region is scheduled to take place in Rajkot from January 11–13. The authorities also have plans in place to ensure a smooth and convenient experience for every delegate, business executive, and guest visiting from India or abroad.
Rapido Cab Services Launches At Rajkot Airport From January 8
Rapido is rolling out cab services at Rajkot International Airport on January 8 to handle the expected rise in the number of travellers. A dedicated Rapido counter will be set up in the parking area outside the terminal, making it easy for passengers to book a ride as soon as they land. Travellers can also use the Rapido app to book cabs directly, Desh Gujarat reported.
A snack bar will also be made operational near the terminal parking area. Visitors can grab tea, coffee, and light food items at affordable prices, making arrivals and departures more comfortable for both domestic and international passengers.
To give guests a feel of Rajkot’s cultural identity, an “AVSAR” outlet will be set up in the departure area. According to Desh Gujarat, the store will sell Patola fabric and traditional handicrafts, showcasing Gujarat’s rich craftsmanship. This Airports Authority of India initiative supports local artisans and Self-Help Groups (SHGs), while also promoting women’s empowerment and regional culture.

PM Modi To Inaugurate VGRC In Rajkot
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra on January 11 at Marwadi University, Rajkot. The event will take place over two days, on January 11 and 12. Over 6,000 people have already registered, and delegates from 21 countries are anticipated to attend, according to Gujarat minister Jitu Vaghani, as reported by The Week.
The conference will showcase regional industries, investment opportunities, and cultural strengths. The event will consist of:
- Business-to-business and business-to-government meetings
- Sector-specific seminars
- An exhibition spread over 26,400 sq metres
- Meetings between buyers and sellers to promote regional goods
Rajkot is preparing to make a good first impression with improved transportation, dining options and cultural displays at the airport. As the Vibrant Gujarat conference approaches, the city is ready to welcome foreign delegates, visitors, and investors with warmth.
