On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate YashoBhoomi, AKA the first phase of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) in Dwarka. The centre is also Delhi Airport Metro Express line expansion from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25 — here’s all about it!

Officials noted that it is the Prime Minister’s aim for the nation to have a top-notch infrastructure for holding meetings, conferences, and exhibitions. They stated the YashoBhoomi at Dwarka would be operationalized and would be a huge boost to the exercise.

It would rank among the largest MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) facilities in the world. With a total project area of over 8.9 lakh square metres, the total built-up area is more than 1.8 lakh square metres.

The main auditorium, the grand ballroom and 13 meeting rooms are among the 15 convention rooms of the more than 73,000 square metre convention facility, which can accommodate 11,000 attendees in all. According to the officials, it features the largest LED media facade in the nation.

The main auditorium of the conference centre, which serves as the plenary hall, has seating for about 6,000 people. The auditorium has one of the most cutting-edge automatic seating systems. It enables the floor to be either a flat floor or tiered seating in the style of an auditorium for various seating combinations.

It Will Have A Ballroom, Exhibition Hall And More

The big ballroom can accommodate up to 2,500 people and features a distinctive petal ceiling and includes a large open space with 500 seats. A range of meetings of various sizes are intended to be held in the 13 meeting rooms dispersed across eight floors.

Additionally, one of the biggest exhibition halls in the world is also available at YashoBhoomi. Reports state that it is made out of materials and items that are influenced by Indian culture, such as terrazzo flooring with brass inlay that depicts rangoli patterns, suspended sound-absorbing metal cylinders, and illuminated patterned walls.

They added that the campus has received Green Cities Platinum certification from CII’s Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). In fact, it is outfitted with a cutting-edge wastewater treatment system with 100 per cent wastewater reuse, rainwater harvesting, and rooftop solar panels, all of which show a strong commitment to sustainability.

With the opening of the new metro station in Dwarka Sector 25, it will also be connected to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line. According to officials, the Delhi Metro will also reduce travel time by increasing the operating speed of Metro trains on the Airport Express Line from 90 km/hr to 120 km/hr.
