Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Ahmedabad today and he visited the iconic Sabarmati Ashram during his visit. The Prime Minister also laid foundation stones for various development projects and railway infrastructure projects worth a whopping ₹85,000 crore during his visit early this morning. PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat and Rajasthan today. The PM visited the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat earlier this morning. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to post about his visit and also shared the schedule for the rest of his Gujarat and Rajasthan tour. As per his schedule, PM Modi will be inaugurating the redeveloped Kochrab Ashram and will also launch the master plans of the Gandhi Ashram Memorial in Ahmedabad.

As for now, the PM has launched developmental projects worth over ₹85,000 crore in Ahmedabad. These include several railway infrastructure and connectivity projects such as railway workshops, loco sheds, coaching depots, a new line between Phaltan and Baramati, and much more. Besides that, the PM will also unveil restoration and conservation projects of 36 existing buildings in the city, including Gandhi’s residence ‘Hriday Kunj.’

The PM also shared plans to visit Pokhran, Rajasthan later in the day. As per his tweet, he will be witnessing a live demonstration of Bharat Shakti, the Tri-Services Fire and Manoeuvre Exercise there.

Railway Infrastructure & Connectivity Projects Launched In Ahmedabad

Here are more details about the development and railways projects that the PM launched in Ahmedabad. PM Modi’s visit to Sabarmati coincided with the anniversary of Dandi March, that is, March 12. During his visit, the PM led the Mahatma Gandhi Sabarmati Ashram restoration project that is worth ₹1,200 crore. According to this restoration plan, the premises of this iconic ashram will expand to 55 acres, from the current 5 acres.
Besides that, PM Modi also launched several railway development projects. To improve India’s railway infrastructure, the PM launched his plans to introduce ten new Vande Bharat trains and extend four existing networks. Besides that, he also launched two new sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) – New Khurja to Sahnewal (Eastern DFC) and New Makarpura to New Gholvad (Western DFC).
