Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the United States on June 20th. He is supposed to meet US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. Though this won’t be his first trip to the country, this one is quite significant as the Prime Minister is looking forward to strengthening India’s ties with the US. Additionally, it will pave the way for closer alignment between these countries. Here are the details of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the US.

PM Narendra Modi is set to travel to the US and his first stop will be New York. He will preside over the International Day of Yoga celebrations on June 21 at the UN building. After that, he will fly to Washington, DC. He is supposed to meet President Biden to carry on their high-level dialogue after being given a formal welcome at the White House on June 22. The same evening, the Prime Minister will be honoured at a State Dinner hosted by the US President and First Lady.

Further, PM Modi will address a joint meeting of the US Congress on June 22 at the invitation of US Congressional Leaders. This meeting will include Speakers of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy and the Senate Charles Schumer.

On June 23, US Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Bilnken will co-host the Prime Minister at a luncheon.

Meetings, Conversations And International Yoga Day

He is set to participate in several carefully curated conversations with top CEOs, experts, and other stakeholders in addition to his formal engagements. The Prime Minister will also get to know people from the Indian diaspora. The PM will next fly to Cairo to visit Egypt on a state visit.

In the meantime, preparations are being made on the lawns of the UN building in New York for the Yoga Day celebrations, which will be presided over by PM Modi. On June 21 at the United Nations building in New York, PM Modi will host the ninth International Yoga Day.

Since its introduction at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, the International Day of Yoga has been observed on June 21 every year.
