Centre Approved A Scheme Worth ₹3,295 Crore To Develop Tourist Spots
Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat shared necessary information about this scheme on the X platform. “Ensuring the whole world sees Bharat’s every nook and corner, one iconic site at a time,” he shared. According to the announcement, the Centre has approved a total of 40 projects in 23 states “under the Special Assistance to States/Union Territories for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme.”
This is a crucial step to develop India’s tourist sites and tourism sector. The mission is to transform India’s famous tourist centres to global standards. In addition to revamping our country’s renowned tourist sites exceptionally, these projects will also contribute to boosting local economies. This will open doors for better employment opportunities through sustainable tourism practices.

According to a report by The Hindu, the Union Finance Ministry cleared these interest-free loans. The Union Tourism Ministry is emphasising to identify offbeat tourist sites and develop them. Some of these breathtaking destinations are:
- Bateshwar in Uttar Pradesh
- Gandikota in Andhra Pradesh
- Ponda in Goa
- Porbandar in Gujarat
