Poonam Pandey Is Not Dead! She Is Alive & Well, Releases A Video Message; Watch

Yesterday, well-known actor, Poonam Pandey’s Instagram account put up a post stating that the actor died due to cervical cancer. Many were surprised by the news, and some began to wonder if the post was fake.  But the country was also perplexed by Poonam’s abrupt death. However today, the actor put up a video message, saying that she is well and alive, claiming to have done it for a cause.

Posting a video on Instagram, Poonam Pandey says that she did this to raise awareness of cervical cancer. She tells and writes in her caption that although she was not affected by cervical cancer, hundreds of women have sadly lost their lives to the disease as a result of inadequate awareness about treatment options. Her post captions, “Cervical Cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease. Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable. The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease. Let’s empower one another with critical awareness and ensure every woman is informed about the steps to take.”

In her video, she mentions that her death news has been able to achieve and raise awareness about cervical cancer. She also remarks that she is apologetic for having taken this drastic step. She adds that as a society we do not speak enough about cervical cancer. In the video, she requests that people visit a website named “http://poonampandeyisalive.com” and receive the HPV vaccination to prevent cervical cancer. Social media users responded to the announcement in a variety of ways.

Cervical Cancer Remains A Global Health Challenge


The actress/model’s team announced on her Instagram account yesterday, February 1, that she had passed away from cervical cancer. Many people found this claim hard to believe, therefore suspicions were raised. After hearing the news, several celebs, including Anupam Kher and Kangana Ranaut, paid tribute to the actress on their respective X handles.

Cervical cancer, a leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women worldwide, remains a significant public health concern despite advances in screening and treatment. While it is a largely preventable and treatable disease, cervical cancer continues to pose a serious threat to women’s health.
